Principle of Operation When water or other condensate reaches a predetermined level, the float rises and opens a port in the central pipe that receives air pressure. This, combined with the spring's force, pushes the piston in the center down, opening the drain port to release the condensate.
As the condensate level in the housing drops, the float lowers, closing the air pressure intake port. With less air pressure in the intake pipe, the piston expands and pushes the spring back up. The condensate outlet port moves up, sealing the outlet and waiting for the condensate level to rise again to restart the draining process.
